About FIXIT

What We Do

Our primary task is to maintain and supply moored instruments and the data derived from them to the research community. The majority of instruments we oversee are a part of the WHOI POOL (Physical Oceanography Observing Laboratories), which is curated by FIXIT.

In addition to instrument support, FIXIT personnel regularly oversee the safe deployment and recovery of moorings that support this instrumentation. The group also develops proposal budgets and manages grant funds allocated to FIXIT, designs moorings, oversees shipping and cruise logistics, and coordinates instrument maintenance schedules.
